Lavis

Lavis is 238 meter on the sea level and only few minutes far from Trento.
The history of Lavis has been strongly signed by the passage of several populations and goods: its name comes from the name of the river "Avisio", and it was known as "The village of Avisio Bridge"; moreover it was the border and the duty between Tyrol and the bishop principality of Trento, as a juncture of Latin and Germanic Worlds.
Two fascinating cultures and very different styles that you can enjoy at Sartori's Hotel.
In Lavis was born don Giuseppe Grazioli, a fundamental character in the importation of silk worms from East.
From Lavis it is possible to reach the renowned Cembra Valley and Non Valley.
The first one begins in Lavis, whereas the second on is situated just a few kilometres north-west.
