Trento is the chief town of Trentino, with a strong testimony of the Renaissance which is evident in its
historical palaces.
Nowadays is Trento a town which is able to stupefy its visitors, thanks to its capacity to renovate and
at the same time to keep a constant and strong bond with traditions.
Town where the homonymous Council was held, from 1545 - 1563, Trento has always been a meeting point between
Italian and middle European culture.
The "Tridentum", an archaeological nether site going back to the time of the ancient Romans, the Cathedral
with the underlying ancient Christian basilica and its marvellous square, the palaces of the Renaissance,
the churches and Buonconsiglio Castle, dwelling for several centuries of the archbishops of Trento, are
only few of the historical artistic beauties of the town.
